A Sauna is a wooden cabin which is constructed in timber and is heated with dry air to a temperature of 90 to 100 degrees Celsius.
Although construction and heating methods vary depending upon the location, the basic principle remains the same throughout the world. The sauna concept has remained the same for centuries. It is only the equipment used which has changed.
The Sauna Heater is the heart of the Sauna, and although we generally use electric heaters, the original Saunas were heated by a wood fire. Many people in the Scandinavian and Northern countries still prefer to use this medium.
Sauna’s can be installed indoors or outdoors. Different options and construction methods are available for different needs.
The interior of the sauna is made from untreated timber, which makes it vulnerable to rotting and insect attack. It is therefore important to build in the correct place and treat the ground where necessary.
